about

I spent the majority of the past year working on my new album and the majority of the year before that on the road. Over the course of two years I wrote over 30 songs. My producer and I narrowed them down to 13 which eventually made the album. The album is not merely a collection of songs; it is a journey. I poured every sense of my existence into this album and reached the highs of highs and lows of lows to achieve what is now a complete story told through 13 songs.

I discovered what it truly means to be an artist during this process. It takes losing a bit of reality, but gaining the deepest understanding of who I am and what I have to offer to the world, but more importantly to those I love. I grew spiritually and emotionally through this process and came out not necessarily stronger, but more compassionate with an understanding of what truly is the most important element of life: love. Love is what continued to fuel me even in the darkest moments of this process and love is what continues to inspire me as a musician; as an artist.

I am so honored to share what I, and a group of some of the most talented, supportive and loving artists I know, created.

This song "Maybe" is one of the final songs on the album. It sums up one of the main themes of this journey, this story: "this is love, this is pain, this is sacrifice."

Wherever you are in your life, on your journey, I hope this song can inspire you to remember what is most important in this world: cherishing, loving and holding onto the people who mean the most. What do we have if not an understanding of true love?

lyrics

Lyrics:

On a street in Nebraska
I find some quiet to call
You pick up and you’re crying
Please come home, please come home, please come home

Maybe I’m not as strong as I thought
Maybe it’s the road
Maybe I was crazy to leave you back waiting
I forgot that you’re my home

Maybe I’m afraid to tell you the truth
Maybe you’d understand
but I’m not okay always away
I forgot that you’re my plan

Watching old friends get married
Helping new friends start a life
Saying I love you for the first time
Swearing that heartbreak is all left behind

Please come home
she said please come home, please come home, please come home

Maybe I’m not as strong as I thought
Maybe it’s the road
Maybe I was crazy to leave you back waiting
I forgot that you’re my home

Maybe I’m afraid to tell you the truth
Maybe you’d understand
but I’m not okay always away
I forgot that you’re my plan

In the dark of California
In our bed where I am not
Close your eyes and feel me hold you
This is love this is pain this is sacrifice

Maybe I’m not as strong as I thought
Maybe I was crazy to leave you back waiting
Maybe I’m afraid to tell you the truth
Maybe you’d understand
but I’m not okay always away

I’m not okay always away
I’m not okay
I’m coming home
